Low-Cost Decorating- I love switching things up in my home to make it look fresh. But like most of us, it is not in my budget to make purchases whenever I get the urge. When I want to make a change in my home I try to first use what I already have. This helps keep my budget in check and also helps to not clutter up my house with purchases I have made on a whim.

1. Revisit what you already own.

2. Re purpose something that you already own.
An unused desk can be used as a entry way organizer or an old dresser can be used as a changing table. Think of different uses for furniture that you already own. If you don’t have it check out thrift stores and garage sales.
3. Give mismatched items a uniformed look with a can of spray paint.
Mismatched bottles, jars and vases can have a new life with just a can of spray paint. Group together in one spot for the most impact.
4. Be inspired by nature.
Flowers are a quick pick me up for any room. If you garden, plant with indoor decorating in mind. Choose flowers that would make a great bouquet. Be creative in what you use for vases. If gardening is not your thing dress up a grocery store bouquet with a pretty vase and quick add-ins such as ferns, twigs or ribbons.
5. Decorate with old frames.
Old frames are usually cheap at garage sales and thrift stores. Collect a variety of shapes and designs, and create a collage of empty frames on a wall.
6. Use fruit to add color when decorating.
Citrus fruits like lemons, limes and oranges arranged in a bowl or platter can instantly brighten up a table.
7. Get together with friends, family and neighbors and hold a swap.
Each person brings household items they no longer want. At the end of the swap, donate all the unwanted items to charity. This is a great to way clear clutter in your home and find new decor items to refresh your home.
